A Taste of Disney Adventure
64Meeting Mickey Mouse
I love cartoons! Since birth, I am a fan of Disney characters. I enjoy watching them on TV and movies. I love the Disney Princesses: Snow White, Belle, Aurora, Jasmine, Ariel and my favorite, Cinderella. I used to daydream and wished my life would be like Cinderella’s- from rags to riches. I also love Mickey and his friends, Donald Duck, Pluto, Goofy, Minnie, Daisy, Huey, Louie, Dewey, Chip 'n Dale and a lot more.
On my 2nd day in Hong Kong during my trip a few months back, I and my buddy went to a very famous tourist attraction, The Hong Kong Disneyland. Upon seeing the signage above the entrance, my heart was beating fast. I can't explain the excitement I felt that time. There were so many tourists taking pictures and I had to find my own spot for my souvenir photos to be taken. Mickey Mouse is the first character that you will see upon entering. The estate is wide and first time visitors would surely get lost. A piece of advice, first thing to do before wandering is grab a copy of the park map and decide where you will go first. But you know, there is also fun in getting lost.
Main Street, U. S. A.
Our first stop was the Main Street, U.S.A. with attractions like Railroad, Main Street Vehicles, Animation Academy, Art of Animation, City Hall, Main Street Cafe, Popcorn, Cotton Candy and Frozen Lollipops Cart, The Town Square Photo where you get to claim your photos when you pose with the Disney Character mascots.
Fantasyland
Our second stop was the Fantasyland with attractions like the Sleeping Beauty Castle, Snow White Grotto, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Fantasy Gardens where we got to meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse and have souvenir photos with them after waiting in line. We rode Dumbo the Flying Elephant and Cinderella Carousel. We also went for a spin riding the Mad Hatter Tea Cups. My favorite here was "It's a Small World". It was like journeying in a happy cruise, seeing beautiful wonders from all over the seven continents of the world while listening to children sing, "It's a small world after all". It was an amazing experience. There were also shops and restaurants in Fantasyland like the Storybook Shoppe, Pooh Center, Royal Banquet Hall, Clopin's Fesival of Foods and Small World Ice Cream.
Tomorrowland
Our third stop was Tomorrowland with attractions like Orbitron where you can pilot your own flying saucer and Autopia where you get to drive into the future riding electric cars. Other attraction I really enjoyed was the Stitch Encounter where visitors get to talk and play with Stitch in an interactive show . By the way, our friend from Hong Kong recommended that we should not miss riding Space Mountain and so we did! I didn't expect it would be that mind-blowing. It was a thrilling, hi-speed journey in a fast and furious roller coaster reaching the far reaches of the universe. I held on to dear life and just prayed! After the ride, wow! It was like an achievement. I felt proud I survived it. I and my friend had a good laugh about it especially after seeing our souvenir photos while screaming our brains out! After such a terryfing but funny experience, we went to Starlight Diner and had a hearty burger and cool iced tea to calm our nerves. Afterwards, I went to Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. It was a relaxing experience helping Buzz Lightyear to save the universe from the evil Emperor Zung.
Adventureland
Last but not the least, we went to Adventureland. The attractions there were Liki Tikis and Festival of the Lion King. The adventurer in me liked the Jungle River Cruise where I got splashed by mechanical elephants and saw a flaming river. Reaching Tarzan's Treehouse, I was excited to climb the treetop home of the ever famous Tarzan. I met Jane and Cheetah too. There was also an interactive playhouse at the base of the tree and we got to play some musical instruments too. We also rode the Raft from Tarzan's Treehouse back to "civilization".
Disney on Parade
We did not miss the Disney on Parade where all the famous Disney characters paraded along the Main Street, U.S. A. There was also an outdoor show called High School Musical. The highlight of my day in Disneyland was the Fireworks Show. It was truly magical. I felt like all my childhood dreams came true upon seeing the amazing fireworks and the Castle of Sleeping Beauty coming alive. The feeling was amazing experience! The child in me was crying out loud not to let the fireworks end, but eventually it did! The fantasy has ended. Now, it's time to go home.

Disney is one of my favorite topics (as you might notice from my hubs). Although I have been to Walt's original Disneyland countless times, Hong Kong Disneyland is one Disney park I've yet to visit. Neat to see the similarities between HK's park and the park in Anaheim, and pick out the differences. So glad you've taken us there for a vicarious visit! Thanks for the follow.
